My mind ran up the stairs before my body did.

Today I have been writing a short text about how it feels to come home. How my brain came home before my body did. How my brain imagined myself in my partner’s arms. I imagined this scene where he would be laying in bed and waiting for me, reading a book, and greet me like he had nothing else on his mind.
When my body caught up with my mind he was not sat in bed waiting for me. He was sat by the computer, playing Counter Strike.
Love is not always how you imagine, sometimes it’s video games and a warm hand on your thigh, but it’s good either way.
